Winter just doesn’t know when to quit, it seems. But the running season will be fast upon us.  And the RunBelfast series of runs remains your answer to ease your cabin fever and satisfy your need to get back outside. This seventh season of RunBelfast offers the four events listed below.  There is room in the schedule for a run in July if one can be found. Like last season, Paces for PAWS and Run Wild! will be held on the Belfast Rail Trail:   Paces for PAWS will start at the Depot at the far end of the trail, while Run Wild! will have its start/finish on Front Street at Marshall Wharf.  This year, Run Wild! will include an option for a 10K.  Both are fairly flat, out-and-back courses.  The Rotary Bug Run offers a fairly flat course that includes a few gentle hills, shaded neighborhoods, a stretch along the waterfront, and the Armistice Foot Bridge across the Passagassawakeag River.  Please note that the Bug Run is held the Saturday during Harbor Fest festivities. The Lions Ghostly Gallop will be staged out of Belfast Area High School with a course that winds through scenic Belfast neighborhoods.  Costumed runners and spectators are welcome as a celebration of Halloween. Note:  There will be a special sign-up sheet available during pre-registration for the Paces for PAWS 5K the morning of June 15 for individuals who plan to run all four RunBelfast events. SPECIAL NOTE:  There will be a special sign-up sheet available during pre-registration for the Paces for PAWS 5K for individuals who plan to run all four RunBelfast events. By completing the sheet entries and paying a fee of $80, an individual will be registered for all four runs and be eligible for any run related goodies.
